Wire 2008, Düsseldorf at Germany is the world largest and most significant trade fair for the wire and cable industry. Previously they confirmed the dates for the next Düsseldorf exhibition. At the same time they advised readers that the addition of the Metav machine tools and metal forming exhibition to wire and Tube Düsseldorf was to result in the locating of Metav in several of the halls previously allocated to Tube and two of the halls previously allocated to wire. They understand that Metav, a German regional machine tools and metal forming exhibition, occupies 56,000 m2, which makes it bigger than wire and Tube.
Already they know that hotel accommodation is at a premium for 2008 and they do repeat their advice that anyone intending to be at wire, either as an exhibitor or visitor, would be well advised to book hotels now since many are already full up.
As a result of the news about the Metav situation the IWMA, being industry partners and sponsors of the fair, has received a number of enquiries from exhibitors concerned about the hall re-locations. Accordingly the IWMA executive secretary visited the Messe Düsseldorf site to evaluate the situation.
